Trinitrotoluene
by Robin Colville
Media: paperclay impressed and decorated with metallic oxides, bodystains and lustres
TNT is a hybrid of two different cacti: the Agave species influenced the form of my headpiece, as I was attracted to the ‘explosive’ and dynamic shapes. The patterning of Howarthia influenced the surface treatment, both texturally and its patterning.
Being involved in this project has been fascinating and full of challenges. It’s very satisfying to see the end product and my idea fully realised.
