Start2- a website bringing art and wellbeing to all

Answering the call from Government to offer more preventative strategies to the public and build greater capacity to care effectively for our wellbeing, Professor Louis Appleby, then Director of Mental Health for England, commissioned Start to create an online version of its successful model of working with art to protect and build wellbeing.

Start2 will offer a wealth of creative activities in interactive and download form, each with evidence explaining its benefits to healthy lifestyles. There will be mixed media, drawing, textiles, photography, horticulture, self-help and mindfulness, art appreciation, virtual visits to galleries and museum collections and much more.

All the studios at Start are working together to build the website, and staff are working closely with service users to achieve inspirational visuals and helpful tips to add to this exciting menu of opportunities.
