Ordinary plastic shopping bags form the weft in this work. They were cut into strips, and woven around warping yarn, using a variety of weaving techniques.
When complete, the panel was ironed to melt the plastic. Different types of plastic melt in different ways, so this created a range of textures.
It is part of an experimental weaving module, taught in partnership with Manchester Adult Education Service.
